Spanktember
Spanktember is a spanking and discipline themed month where a prompt list is shared to allow creators to challenge themselves and create art, fiction, and other works of a creative nature. Originally started in 2022, the mods of a (now defunct) Discipline Fic server on Discord came up with the idea, posting out the first prompt list to Tumblr. A second prompt list was shared in 2023.
Why are there two lists for 2024?
With no signs of a publicly-available 2024 prompt list, I (Gutter Pupper) took inspiration from the template and designed a new prompt list for 2024 in hopes of keeping the themed month alive, with credit to the original designers and creators for the initial idea of the themed month (I take no credit for the idea or concept itself). However, a new Discord server, called Writers of DFIC, was established in late 2023, with moderators coming from the previous server and continuing the themed month in this Discord server. As I was unaware of this, we were not able to combine efforts.
What about Spanktember 2025?
Currently, there are talks about combining efforts so that in 2025, there will be a more public presence on social media platforms that will allow everyone to get involved with the Spanktember theme, as well as one list. While we work out how that will look for next year's challenge, I hope everyone will still enjoy both lists and have fun with however they partake in Spanktember 2024.Find out more about the Writers of DFIC over on Tumblr.
HOW TO POST TO
Spanktember
There are various places to share your contribution to this challenge, whether it be art, writing or another creative format. Spaces have been set for you to share on X, BlueSky, and AO3.
Post your work using the hashtag #Spanktember or #Spanktember2024. You can also follow the @spanktember account for work that may get added to the timeline.
While there is no Spanktember account, a feed has been set up to capture anything posted with #spanktember or #spanktember2024 hashtags (anything without the hashtag will not be picked up immediately and would need to be added manually). This list will be maintained and checked to make sure people's contributions are captured to the feed. You can find the feed here
To post to AO3, use the Collections / Challenges option under the Associations section. The collection has the ID of Spnktmbr2024. You can check it by clicking this link to see the collection. You can read this FAQ on the archive on how to add your work to a collection.
• Note that there are other variations set up by another user, and you are free to use them, but this project is linked specifically to the Spnktmbr2024 ID name.
